Boxing with Pax

Today some classes had Miss Pax for boxing. Miss Pax is a nice,funny,respectful coach that teaches us how to protect us and be save. At 11:45 we went to the hall and waited for the other class finish boxing time. when the other class went back room 9 stepped in the hall and sat down to wait for Miss Pax instructions. We had a talk about Miss Pax life about boxing than learnt the three commandments. The three commandments were RESPECT, DISCIPLINE and SAFETY  which we had to listen and do through the whole session. When it was time to get our boxing gloves we had to put another set of gloves so we won't sweat in the boxing gloves. When we got our boxing gloves we sat down and listen to the next step we had to do. We started of with a warm up and played a game called knee tag which will make your legs move a lot with a buddy and if your buddy tags your knee you have to do one burpees . Me and my buddy had fun playing the knee tag which warmed us up a lot. When Miss Pax said break we had to put our hands up and find another buddy to play knee tag again. Than we did the wall position that you have to stand in the boxing position than Miss Pax will come over one by one than push you soft and you can't move. After a couple of minutes we had to chose another buddy to practice the jab and the cross.  We got in our boxing position than learnt how to do the jab and the cross. After learning the jab and cross we put the gloves away and thank coach Pax and went to class. After boxing I felt really happy that we protect ourselves  and be safe :) .

Glen Taylor School Science Exhibition

Today after morning tea Glen Taylor got to go to other classes to see what their science project they were working on this term. After looking through all the science work we could choose which one was our favorite and write about it and my favorite was Room 10 and Room 13. When the bell rang we all lined up outside and went to room 10 to see their science project. We went in Room 10 and they were working on body parts part and they digestive systems. I can tell they were working hard to make the body parts with cardboard and paint so I really liked Room 10's  science work. When we went to Room 13's I saw lots of cool things like the galaxy lamp. The galaxy lamp had Oil and food coloring with water put together in a jar. It was so cool I could not take my eyes of them while going through all of the other things they made . After seeing all the Glen Taylor  science work we went back to our class and our science exhibition  were working on how milk was made and built a big cow made with milk boxes and milk cartons with a little cow painted black and white.

2019 Student led Conference

Today's afternoon Glen Taylor School had student led conference and finished school at 12:45. at 12:45 the bell rang and everyone went home with a happy face with there bags. after 1 hour me and my cousin walked to school with our parents ready to tell our parents about our learning levels. I went in my class with my mum and saw my wonderful teacher with a smile on her face with happiness. I got my chrome book out and went on a doc with my learning levels and learning sites. I showed my mum my levels and  learning sites that I usually go on to learn about new things than showed my mum around the class. I showed my mum the science board me and my group made and our big cow and the arts we did during this term 3. After I got to take my chrome book home and my mum had to know about my 2 other sibling's learning so we said thank you and goodbye to my teacher than my mum headed of to my sister's class for around 15 minutes than went to my brother's class. At the end of the day we went home and had to do our work that we needed to finish on our chrome book than got to play or do other stuff at home and was done.

Our Science Boards

This term room 9 has been learning about how milk is made on science boards. Yesterday 24/07/19 we had to get up in pairs of 4 so my groups was Ngwe Sin, Catherine and Carlosi. We got our science board and started gluing our how milk is made writings on the sides. We put on some colorful decoration on like origami butterfly and paper boats so it would be colorful. We printed and glued cows and bottles of milk on the back saying enjoy. We then cut out black patches and glued them on the back side than put on some keywords and put actual grass in a little bag saying grass and put some poppy's on the top and our science board was done. room 9 made alot of mess but at least we all finished in time. We were happy with our science board so we put them in a nice place.

Making playdough

  Today room 10 had Miss Wrack and made some     cooked and uncooked play dough. I noticed
 we were actually making play dough but i
 thought we were cooking. I felt happy because I
 have never made cooked play dough.
 I learnt that we had to show fire and ace to in
 the staff room and keep it clean. I was
 thinking that if it would taste good and
 delicious  but it tasted salty and just like play dough.
 what surprise me was that how Miss Wrack
 would let us make cooked play dough and
 uncooked play dough. What I did in my turn
 was put in some flour and mix the play
 play dough. It was fun making cooked play
 dough with Miss wrack and my group.

2018 Student Led Conference

Today we had Student Led conference, I showed my mum my Reading, Writing and Math levels and stages I had so much fun working with my mum on my presentation and how my mum like how hard I been working and she liked how I use my Chromebook so that I learn more things in my Chromebook. Ms Wrack helped so much families during Student Led Conference, Ms Wrack also showed FIRE and ACE to the whanau that walked in. I'd like to say thank you so much to Ms Wrack for helping us even when we are still waiting for our new teacher Miss Tania Botha and sorry if you                                                                                           did not want your name called out on my                                                                                              blog. I had so much fun being here at Student                                                                                      Led Conference running around playing also                                                                                   showing my work to my lovely parents. Also I                                                                                       enjoyed asking my cousins how well you did and                                                                                      did you like showing your hard working to                                                      your parents.

A cat moment in time 

I saw the bright moon shining in the dark sky

I saw human eating some buttery popcorn

I heard the dogs barking out loudly and owls hooting

I heard the babies howling for their mum

I smelt the juicy mice and delicious fish

I smelt people cooking chicken and chips

I tasted some mice and it’s tasty tail
I tasted my fur while I was licking it

I wonder what the humans were cooking

I wonder if the kids were watching a movie
